SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's and men's track teams are headed back to the Husky Classic once again Friday and Saturday. It will be the third time the Bulldogs run inside the Dempsey Center this season.
The Zags will compete alongside Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, Adams State, Boise State, Air Force, UCLA, Oklahoma State, Washington, California, Washington State, Arizona, UCLA, Texas, Penn State, Colorado State, San Francisco, Tennessee, Arkansas, Iona, Southern Utah, Portland, Butler, Penn State, Wyoming, Loyola Marymount, Santa Clara, and professional athletes inside the Dempsey Center.
Gonzaga has performed well at the meet in the past, capped off by Troy Fraley running the men's 3,000-meter program record in 2016. During his junior season, Fraley finished with a time of 7:57.16.
James Mwaura threatened the record on Feb. 1, running the second-fastest time in GU history., crossing the line at 7:59.09, placing ninth overall in the event. Mwaura became just the second Zag ever to run a sub-eight-minute 3K. He will have another chance to break the record, Friday night at 7:50.

Pat Tyson called the Bulldogs' last outing inside the Dempsey Center on Feb. 1, one of the greatest trips to the facility in Zag history.
Cullen McEachern ran a 10-second personal record, crossing the line at 8:12.89, which ranks seventh on the GU all-time list. McEachern was second in his heat, followed closely by
Ben Hogan, who was third with a time of 8:13.50. Hogan's five-second personal record is No. 9 in program history.
Peter Hogan broke the indoor 5,000-meter school record on the first day of the UW Invitational on Jan. 31, crossing the line at 14:13.82.
Dominic Arce ran a 40-second personal record, 14:25.49, placing 11th overall. His finish ranks fourth on the GU all-time list.
Myles Bach cruised to a 14:36.55 finish in his 5K debut. The freshman's time is ninth in program history.
Aimee Piercy placed second in her heat of the women's 3,000 meters with a time of 9:42.32. She climbed from fourth to third on the program's all-time list. In the women's mile,
Ally Legard ran to a 5:04.82 finish.
Paxton Depoe was close behind at 5:06.97. The freshman's finish ranks ninth in GU history.
Claire Gillett had a 5:08.65 finish.
The Bulldogs open the meet with the women's 3,000 meters, Friday at 3:15 p.m. The men's 3,000 follows at 3:50. Results will be available on GoZags.com following the meet.
