SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's tennis took the 4-0 sweep on Saturday at the Stevens Center in Spokane, Wash.
"We came out well and were focused today," head coach
D.J. Gurule said. "I liked the way we took care of our matches and the things we can control. We are excited to continue getting better."
Gonzaga dominated the doubles point to start the day, taking victories on Nos. 1 and 2 to win the point. The first to finish was
Cate Broerman and
Haruna Tsuruta on No. 2 with a 6-1 victory. The No. 1 pair of
Kate Ketels and
Vlada Medvedcova finished shortly after to clinch with a 6-2 win.
Gonzaga took three straight-set singles wins to take the match without dropping a set on any court.
Tsuruta finished first with a 6-0, 6-1 victory on No.3 to make it 2-0, and
Kate Ketels won 6-0, 6-2 on No. 1 to set up the final point.
Jenna Sloan finished off the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory on No. 6.
