Zags aim for second 16-0 start in program history

THE TIP OFF
- Gonzaga visits San Diego in the 98th all-time meeting between the programs Thursday at 6 p.m.
- GU leads the series 75-22, and has won 12 straight versus the Toreros, 23 of the last 24, and 45 of the last 48 matchups. The Bulldogs are 46-4 against USD under Few.
- Gonzaga is 32-13 all-time at San Diego. The Zags have won 11 of their last 12 at USD.
- The Toreros' last win in the series came on Feb. 22, 2014, 69-66, at San Diego.
- In the last meeting in the series, the Bulldogs clinched the
program's eighth-straight West Coast Conference regular season title with a 94-59 win at home on Feb. 27, 2020. Corey Kispert scored 16 points for Gonzaga.
- The Zags are coming off of a 95-49 win over Pacific Saturday. Drew Timme scored 22 points and freshman Jalen Suggs came close to a triple-double (9 pts, 11 rbs, 8 asts).
- GU is 6-0 in WCC play for the fifth straight season.
- The Zags have only trailed in three conference games this season (vs San Francisco for 16 seconds, Pepperdine for 34 seconds and at SMC, 13:24), and only for 50 seconds total at home this season.

- Corey Kispert (20.6) and Drew Timme (18.5) lead the WCC in scoring and field goal percentage (Timme, 61.2) (Kispert, 58.2). Kispert also tops the conference in three-pointers made per game (3.1) and three-point field goal percentage (49.0).
- Jalen Suggs is first in the conference in steals (2.31). Andrew Nembhard is first in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.81).
- Jalen Suggs was named the Freshman of the Week for the sixth time this season Monday.

- This is the 98th all-time meeting between Gonzaga and San Diego. GU has a 75-22 lead in the series.

SCOUTING THE TOREROS:
- San Diego is coming off of a 78-70 win at Portland Saturday. The Toreros led for all but 10 seconds.
- Five of the seven USD players that got in reached double-digits, with a six scoring nine points. Josh Parrish scored a team-high 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting. He grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. Finn Sullivan had 10 points and five assists.
- Joey Calcaterra averages a team-best 14.7 points per game, while Parrish is adding 11.9 points per outing.
- Yauhen Massalski leads the team with 7.8 rebounds per game, and has 11 blocks.
- Ben Pyle and Sullivan lead the team with 21 and 20 assists.

SUGGS NAMED WCC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
- For the sixth time in the first nine weeks of the award, Jalen Suggs was named the WCC Freshman of the Week.
- He earned the honor for the third straight week, and fifth time in the last six weeks. The exception was on Jan. 4, when teammate Oumar Ballo got the recognition.
- Suggs nearly had a triple-double in Gonzaga's victory over Pacific, which would have just been the Zags' second-ever triple-double after teammate Joel Ayayi achieved the feat on Jan. 9. Suggs scored nine points Saturday, had a game-high 11 rebounds, and dished out eight assists.
- His 11 rebounds were a career-high, and his eight assists matched a career-best.
