THE TIP OFF
- Gonzaga makes its first true road trip of the season at Portland Saturday at 5 p.m.
- It's the 170th meeting between the programs. The Zags have a 103-66 advantage in the series.
- GU has won 12 straight versus the Pilots and is 36-22 at Portland in the series. Gonzaga has won 23 of the last 24 inside the Chiles Center. The Bulldogs are 39-2 against Portland under Mark Few. The Pilots last win in the series came on Jan. 9, 2014, 82-73, at Portland.
- Gonzaga won the latest meeting between the teams, 85-72, last season in Portland to open conference play.
- The Zags are coming off of an 86-69 win over BYU Thursday. GU led by as many as 32 points midway through the second half. Corey Kispert led all scorers with 23.
- Gonzaga is the first team to open its season with 11 straight games scoring 85 points or more since Loyola Marymount in 1990-91.
- The Bulldogs are one the last nine unbeaten teams in the nation, and one of 11 teams that have at least 10 wins.
- GU is first in the nation in scoring offense (94.3), second in field goal percentage (54.8), and third in assists (20.5).
- According to KenPom, GU boasts the nation's second most efficient offense and 15th best defense.
- Corey Kispert (62.6) and Drew Timme (59.5) lead the WCC in field goal percentage. Kispert also tops the conference scoring 21.7 points per game and three-pointers made per game (3.0). He is second in the league in three-point field goal (50.0) and free-throw percentage (86.5).
- Jalen Suggs is first in the conference in steals (2.56).
- Joel Ayayi and Oumar Ballo were named the WCC Player and Freshman of the Week. Five different Zags have received the honor out of the possible six weeks. Suggs has earned the freshman recognition three of the six weeks.
- The Bulldogs 15 consecutive wins dating back to last season is the second-longest active streak in nation.
- The Bulldogs have won 32 of their last 33 games, and 42 out of their last 44 games.

- Portland edged GU, 70-66, in the first-ever NCAA meeting on Jan. 18, 1959, inside the Spokane Coliseum.
 
SCOUTING THE PILOTS
- After leading 43-41 at halftime, Portland fell to San Francisco Thursday, 88-64. Isiah Dasher led the Pilots with 17 points, Ahmed Ali and Eddie Davis added 13 and 10.
- Ali paces Portland with 18.4 points per game, and Davis chips in 11.2 points.
- Davis grabs a team-high 5.2 rebounds a game, and Ali leads the Pilots with 30 assists.
- Portland enjoyed a five-game winning streak, during a 5-1 start to the season, that included an overtime win at Oregon State. The Pilots are 5-1 this season at home.
 
A ZAG WIN WOULD ...
- Would be the 21st straight GU win in January.
- Make Gonzaga 154-17 in January games under Mark Few.
- Extend the nation's second-longest active win streak to 16.
- Would be the 13th straight over Portland.
 
MILESTONE WATCH
- Following the San Francisco win, Joel Ayayi (520) and Drew Timme (519) both eclipsed 500 points in their careers.
- Corey Kispert passed Steven Gray for ninth in GU history for most career three-pointers. Kispert is currently at 212. Gary Bell Jr. is eighth with 219.
- Kispert is one win shy of moving to 10th in program history for most victories in a career (106-10 career record).
- Aaron Cook is 18 points away from 900 in his career.
 
NOT BAD COMPANY
- The Zags have scored 85 or more points in each of their first 11 games of the season, with a season-high being 112 against Dixie State and a season-low of 85 versus San Francisco.
- According to Elias, Gonzaga is the first team to open its season with 11 straight games scoring 85 points or more since Loyola Marymount in 1990-91.
- Gonzaga is the first team since Arkansas in 1993-94 to score 85 points in each of its first 10 games of a season. That Arkansas team won the National Championship.
 
FAST START VS THE COUGARS
- Gonzaga jumped out to a 30-7 lead over BYU Thursday.
- In the first nine minutes of the game, the Zags made 13 of their 18 shots from the field, including 3-of-6 from three.
- The Bulldogs led 8-0 after two minutes, and 23-2 after seven minutes.
