SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Gonzaga men's soccer team picked up their second West Coast Conference win of the year with a victory over San Francisco in overtime, 3-2.
The Zags improve to 4-1 on the road this season, the first time Gonzaga has earned four victories on the road since 2015. It also marks the first overtime win for the Zags since 2017.
"The guys found a way, even through conditions and injury, to get another win on the road," head coach

Leon Sitz taking advantage of his chances. His form right now is as high as it has been all year."
In the first half, the Bulldogs (7-6, 2-1 WCC) took the lead when freshman
Wylie Trujillo scored in the 34th minute, his third goal of the season. The goal came after a red card was given to San Francisco (2-8-1, 0-2-1 WCC) in the 20th minute, giving the Zags a one man advantage the rest of the match.
Going into the second half up 1-0, USF responded in the 56th minute with a goal from Nonso Adimabua to tie the game up.
In the 76th minute, junior
Frankie Ljucovic put the Zags back in front with his third goal of the year as sophomore
Leon Sitz dished the assist. San Francisco quickly responded in the 79th minute to tie it up, 2-2, with a goal from Shayan Charalaghi and assisted by Gabriel Bracken Serra.
At the end of regulation, the game was tied at 2-2 as nobody scored in the final minutes.
In overtime, Sitz scored the golden goal in the 98th minute to lift GU to the OT win.
Gonzaga outshot USF 23-10 as the Zags took 11 shots on goal. Sitz led the team with six shots and redshirt sophomore
Johan Garibay tallied four saves.
SERIES HISTORY
Gonzaga moves to 10-17-2 overall against USF as it marks the team's first win in San Francisco since 2009.
