SAN MATEO, Calif. — Gonzaga women's soccer had five student-athletes earn All-West Coast Conference postseason honors the league announced Thursday.
Erin Healy was named First Team All-WCC, while
Sophia Braun was second team.
Jordan Thompson was tabbed honorable mention.
Kelsey Oyler and
Willow Collins were both selected to the All-Conference Freshman Team.
Healy was eighth in the WCC with eight goals this season and 10
th in points with 17. Healy was named All-Freshman in 2019. Braun was a first team selection last season, and this season she started in all 20 games for the Zags. The junior scored a goal and record an assist. Thompson finished as the all-time winningest player at GU, starting in all 78 appearances as a Zag and winning 52 of those games. She was Second Team All-League last season and is a two-time Preseason All-WCC selection.
Oyler tied the program record for most assists in a single season with seven in 2021. Collins was second on the team with five assists.
BYU senior Mikayla Colohan and Santa Clara senior Alex Loera each made West Coast Conference history by collecting two of the Conference's major awards for the third consecutive year as the WCC announced its 2021 women's soccer postseason honors. All six individual awards and the All-WCC teams were voted on solely by the Conference's 10 coaches.
Loera is the first player in Conference history to be voted the WCC Defender of the Year three times, capturing the award each of the last three seasons. Colohan is the third player in the Conference's history to be voted the WCC Offensive Player of the Year three times. She was also named the Conference's inaugural Midfielder of the Year.
After being appointed interim co-head coaches prior to the 2021 season and leading Pacific to its best record in 12 years, Danesha Adams and J.J. Wozniak were voted the WCC Coaches of the Year. On Monday, Adams and Wozniak were promoted and named the Tigers' co-head coaches moving forward.
Pacific netminder Brenna Crump was voted the WCC Goalkeeper of the Year and Saint Mary's forward Alexis Gutierrez was recognized as the WCC Freshman of the Year.
