SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's rowing team are set to compete in the Head of the Lake in Seattle, Wash., on Sunday morning.Â
The team will compete in three races at the regatta. The first one is the Championship Women's 8+ Race at 8:08 a.m. The 1V8 and 2V8 boats will be competing for the Bulldogs. At 8:11 a.m., the 3V8 boat will race in the Women's Collegiate JV8+ race. The last competition of the day is at 8:19 a.m. with the 4V8 boat racing in the Women's Collegiate 3v8+ race.Â
This regatta will conclude the fall season for the women's rowing team. The spring schedule will be released at a later date on GoZags.com.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gonzaga women's rowing team competed in the second regatta of the Fall schedule at the Head of Spokane on Saturday morning.
In the first race, the 1V8 boat took third with a time of 16:49 for the Zags as Oregon State took first with a finish of 16:24 out of 15 boats. In the same race, GU's 2V8 boat took fifth with a time of 17:20 along with the 3V8 boat finishing eighth with a 17:42 finish. Rounding out the first flight was Gonzaga's novice boat, which finished 11th with a time of 19:28.
In the second flight, the Zags took first in he 2V8+ boat with a time of 17:48 with 16 boats competing. The Zags also took third place in the 2V4 'A' with a time of 19:14. The 3V8+ boat finished fourth with a time of 19:19. The other two boats for Gonzaga in the fight was the 2V4 'B' and another novice boat, both finishing 11th and 13th, respectively.
The final race of the day was another win for GU as the 2 'A' boat won with a time of 20:24. The Zags had one other boat in the flight with the 'B' boat finishing ninth with a time of 21:02.
