Bulldogs Win Fourth Straight in Shutout Victory over LMU

Zags move to 3-0 in West Coast Conference play

SPOKANE, Wash. – Playing on Luger Field for the first time this season, the Gonzaga women's soccer team won its third straight game, 3-0, over Loyola Marymount Saturday.
 
The Zags (5-1-0, 3-0-0 West Coast Conference) remained unbeaten in conference play, and posted its third shutout in the last four games. During the four-game win streak, GU has outscored its opponents 10-1, and is outscoring opponents 15-3 so far this season.
 
Gonzaga's Lauren Elwer scored her second goal of the season in the 17th minute. Maggie Conners recorded her third assist of the year on the first goal of the game. The Bulldogs outshot LMU (1-3-1, 1-3-0 WCC), 9-5 in the first half.
 
Jordan Thompson found the back of the net for the second time this season in the 61st minute. Alaysia Lane was credited with the assist. In the 74th minute, Maddie Kemp scored her first collegiate goal to complete the scoring.
 
The Zags finished with 23-9 advantage in shots, with 10 on frame. Loyola Marymount had six shots on goal. GU's Lyza Bosselmann made six saves, while Kendyll Humphreys finished with six in the Lions' net. Gonzaga also held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks. Conners took a game-high five shots, while all four of Thompson's shots were on goal.
