Women’s Tennis Names Daniela Nasser as Assistant Coach

Nasser joins the Zags following two seasons with Fighting Irish

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Gonzaga women's tennis head coach Natalie Pluskota-Hamberg announced the hiring of Daniela (Dani) Nasser as the program's assistant coach. Nasser arrives at Gonzaga following two seasons with Notre Dame.

"Dani has a tremendous energy and passion to impact student-athletes both on and off court," Pluskota-Hamberg said. "She will be vital to the continuous development of our players. I am really excited about what she has to offer our Zag family."

Nasser served two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach with the Fighting Irish from 2019-2021. In her final season, Nasser helped the women's program to a top 15 national singles ranking. The program also had two doubles teams earn a top 15 national ranking and compete in the NCAA individual tournament.

"It is an honor to join the Gonzaga family. I am grateful to Coach Pluskota-Hamberg for the opportunity to be part of a University that strives for academic and competitive excellence," Nasser said. "I am very excited to  learn and work alongside her as we develop our student athletes on and off the court. This is a hard-working group that is eager to develop, and I can't wait to be a part of it! I would also like to thank the University of Notre Dame and Coach Silverio for an enriching two seasons."

Prior to beginning her coaching career Nasser was a student-athlete at University of Oregon where she closed out her career with a 63-41 record. She is a top 10 all-time wins leader in Oregon history. In her senior season, Nasser was playing #1 singles and her 63 career victories are tied for eighth in UO history

Off the court, Nasser was named to the Pac-12 All Academic First Team in 2018 and was All Academic Honorable Mention in 2019.

Nasser is a native of Tampa, Fla., and graduated from Oregon in 2019 with a B.S. in Business Administration.
