SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga men's soccer program announced their 2021 season schedule Thursday. The upcoming slate features 17 regular season games and three exhibitions.
The Bulldogs host 13 matches in 2021, opening the season with an exhibition against Carroll College on Aug. 17, before starting the regular season on Aug. 26, versus UNLV in Spokane. The West Coast Conference season begins at San Diego on Oct. 1.
Following three home exhibitions against Carroll, The College of Idaho (Aug. 20), and Western Washington (Aug. 22), GU hosts back-to-back contests to open the regular season versus UNLV and Bowling Green (Aug. 29). UNLV and Gonzaga met for five straight seasons from 2013 to 2017, but have not played since. The Zags own an 8-3-1 all-time record against UNLV.
Gonzaga starts September with a pair of road games at UC Davis and Sacramento State on Sept. 2 and 5. Four home games follow versus St. Thomas (Sept. 10), Cal Baptist (Sept. 13), CSU Bakersfield (Sept. 17) and Denver (Sept. 20). The Bulldogs end the month at San Diego State on Sept. 24. GU and the Aztecs meet for the first time since 2002.
Another game in San Diego follows with the WCC season opener. The Zags welcome Loyola Marymount on Oct. 9, prior to a non-conference match against Washington at Luger Field on Oct. 16. Gonzaga then travels to San Francisco and Portland on Oct. 23 and 27. The Bulldogs close October with a matchup against Santa Clara in Spokane on the 30
th.
On Nov. 6, GU wraps up its home schedule versus Saint Mary's. The regular season comes to an end on Nov. 13 at Pacific.
