WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Gonzaga women's soccer fell for the first time this season, 1-0, at Purdue Thursday. It was the first-ever meeting between the programs.
The Boilermakers (1-0-2) got their first win of the season and remain unbeaten, despite being outshot by GU, 14-10. The Bulldogs put seven of those shots on goal, while Purdue had six. Marisa Bova made seven saves for the Boilermakers, and
Lyza Bosselmann had five for Gonzaga.
After a scoreless first half, Purdue scored the game's lone goal in the 69th minute. Nicole Kevdzija took advantage of a loose ball in the box off a corner and found the back of the Gonzaga net. It was her first goal of the season.
The Zags (2-1-0) held possession for 51 percent of the match, including 56 percent in the first half. Gonzaga took six corners to Purdue's four. GU's
