San Diego State Defeats Men’s Soccer, 2-0

Aztecs score both goals in first six minutes

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Gonzaga men's soccer team fell at San Diego State Friday, 2-0. The Aztecs scored both goals in the first six minutes of the match.
 
San Diego State (6-0-2) remained unbeaten this season and won its fifth-straight contest. Tevenn Roux assisted on both SDSU goals, the first in the fourth minute from Laukoa Santos, and the second from Andre Ochoa in the sixth minute. It was Santos first score of the season, and the fourth for Ochoa. Roux now has three assists.
 
The Aztecs outshot GU, 14-3, with a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal. San Diego State took four corner kicks, while the Zags had one. SDSU owned 51 percent of the possession in the match.
 
Johan Garibay made four saves in the Gonzaga (5-4-0) net. San Diego State's Jacob Castro had one save. Leon Sitz took two shots for the Bulldogs, with one n frame.
 
Gonzaga returns to San Diego to open West Coast Conference play at USD Friday. The Toreros (1-8-0) have lost four straight matches. Friday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m., with live video and stats on GoZags.com.
