THE TIP OFF
- Top-ranked Gonzaga hosts San Francisco in a rescheduled game that was postponed and originally scheduled for Jan. 6. It's the 88th meeting between the programs and the Zags own the all-time series 65-22.
- GU has won 21 straight versus the Dons. USF's last win in the series came on Feb 18, 2012, 66-65, at USF. The Bulldogs have won 32 in-a-row in Spokane in the series, including all 17 in the McCarthey Athletic Center.
- The Zags have won 24 straight conference games, which is the longest active streak of its kind in the nation. Gonzaga's last league loss was a 91-78 setback at BYU on Feb. 22, 2020.
- GU rides a national-best, and program-best, 61-game home win streak inside the McCarthey Athletic Center.
- Gonzaga is coming off a 115-83 victory at Santa Clara Saturday. It was the first true road game of the season for GU. Six Zags finished in double-digit scoring led by Drew Timme's had 32 points on 14-of-18 shooting from the field. Andrew Nembhard added 19 points and six assists. The Bulldogs finished 58 percent from the field, including 12-of-26 from three-point range. Gonzaga finished with 26 assists.
- GU has won eight straight true road games, which is the longest active streak in the country.
- The Zags appear in the Associated Press poll for the 106th consecutive ranking, the longest current streak in the nation, with Villanova second at 51. Gonzaga is the only program in the country to appear in every AP poll since 2017, with a No. 5 average ranking. Since 2017, GU has been No. 1 in 34 of the 106 AP polls (32 percent), which leads the country. The Bulldogs boast a 60-7 record all-time as the No. 1 ranked team.
- GU is first in the nation in scoring offense (90.9), scoring margin (24.5), field goal percentage (53.9), and in defensive rebounds (31.75), second in assists per game (19.3), third in rebounds per game (42.4) sixth in rebound margin (10.3), and eighth in assist to turnover ratio (1.57).
- Drew Timme is fifth in the nation shooting 65.5 percent from the field. Chet Holmgren is seventh in the country with 54 blocks and averaging 3.4 blocks per game, and eighth shooting 73.2 percent from inside-the-arc.
- The Zags are first in the NET and KenPom's rankings (2nd offensive efficiency, 17th efficient defense).
- The Bulldogs have won 66 of their last 70 games, and since the start of the 2019-20 season, GU has won a national-best 76 out of their last 810 games. Gonzaga is also 45-3 since the start of 2020-21.
 
SERIES NOTES:
- This is the 88th all-time meeting between Gonzaga and San Francisco. GU has a 65-22 advantage in the series.
- GU is 44-4 against San Francisco under Mark Few.

- The Bulldogs won the latest meeting, 100-61, in San Francisco on Feb. 13. Drew Timme scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Andrew Nembhard had five assists.

- The Bulldogs are 37-2 against USF in Spokane all-time. The Dons last won in Spokane on Feb. 10, 1989, 67-64.
- Gonzaga won last season's meeting in Spokane, 85-62. Corey Kispert scored 26 points on 9-of-11 shooting and GU shut down hot-shooting San Francisco in the second half.
- GU is 24-18 all-time at San Francisco. The Bulldogs have won the last nine matchups at USF.
- GU has won four of the five all-time meetings in the West Coast Conference Tournament, including the latest in the 2020 semifinals. Joel Ayayi scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half and the No. 2-ranked Bulldogs survived a scare to beat San Francisco 81-77.
- San Francisco edged GU, 64-62, in the first-ever meeting at USF on Jan. 28, 1961.
 
SCOUTING THE DONS:   
- San Francisco is receiving two votes in the USA Today/Coaches poll after having its best start in program history.
- The Dons opened the season 10-0 and 13-1. The combined margin of their three losses is eight points.
- USF won its lone true road game so far this season, holding off Arizona State in Tempe, 66-65.
- San Francisco is coming off a 71-69 home loss to BYU Saturday. Jamaree Boyea led the Dons with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Khalil Shabazz added 14 points. USF was held to 32.3 percent shooting from the field, including 3-of-23 from three-point range. The Dons led for 32 minutes, and their largest lead was 10 with 13:43 left in the game.
- Bouyea is third in the West Coast Conference averaging 17.9 points, 35.1 minutes, fourth making 2.4 three-pointers, fourth with 1.6 steals and sixth with 3.8 assists.
- Shabazz leads the WCC making two steals per game.
- Yauhen Massalski is second averaging 8.2 rebounds, third at 2.3 blocks per game, and ninth scoring 14.1 points.
- Julian Rishwain has made 30 three-pointers at a conference-leading 48.4 percent from behind-the-arc.

GONZAGA RETURNS TO NO. 1
- After 20 straight polls at No. 1, the Bulldogs have spent the last seven polls at 3, 5, 5, 4, 4, 4, and 2. GU returned to the top-ranked spot in both polls Monday.
- In total, the Bulldogs have spent 37 weeks at No. 1 in the AP Poll in program history, which is eighth all-time.
- Gonzaga boasts a 60-7 record all-time as the No. 1 ranked team in the AP Poll.
- GU has been ranked No. 1 in six of the last 10 seasons.
- The Nov. 22 poll was the 20th straight ranking that the Zags sat at No. 1. That streak matched the fourth-longest in AP poll history with San Francisco in 1955-56. UCLA topped the ranking for 46 consecutive polls from 1971 to 1974.

TIMME EARNS NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NODS
- Drew Timme was named the National Player of the Week by NCAA March Madness, ESPN.com and the Naismith Trophy.
- Last week, Timme made 27 of 32 shots from the field and scored 62 points in a pair of convincing victories.
- Between the two games last week, Timme made 20 consecutive shots from inside the three-point arc.
- He posted 30 points on Thursday versus BYU before outdoing himself with 32 against the Broncos on Saturday.

- Timme earning his second WCC Player of the Week recognition this season and Chet Holmgren collecting Freshman of the Week honors for the fifth time.

- In Thursday's clash against the Cougars, Holmgren posted 12 points and seven rebounds, and made his presence felt defensively with five blocks and two steals.
