Kim Earns Co-Medalist Honors and Zags Place Second

First Zag to win tournament title since 2019

KAPOLEI, Hawaii – Gonzaga women's golfer Cassie Kim earned co-medalist honors at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, while the Bulldogs finished second as a team Wednesday. The three-day tournament took place at the Kapolei Golf Club.
 
Kim became the first Zag women's golfer to finish atop the leaderboard since Quynn Duong won the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational in 2019. Kim finished at five-under (211), tying with Colorado State's Sofia Torres.
 
Kim opened the tournament carding a 67 (-5) in the first round, matching the lowest round in the 78-golfer event. The senior made eight birdies and seven pars Monday. She made three birdies and 13 pars in the final round, finishing at one-under (71). Kim was the best in the field on the course's Par-5 holes with an average of 4.58 (-5).
 
Gonzaga was tied for first after the first round at six-under (282). After a 301 (+13) second round total, the Bulldogs were even-par (288) in Round 3. GU finished the tournament at seven-over (871). Colorado State took the team title at seven-under (857). The Rams were six-under (282) in the final round. GU's 45 birdies were the second-most made in the 13-team field.
 
The Zags' Grace Lee tied for eighth at two-over (218). She also carded a 67 (-5) in the first round, making six birdies and 11 pars. The freshman was one-under (71) in the third round, with seven birdies. Lee led the tournament with 14 birdies.
 
Quynn Duong tied for 26th, while Chaewon Baek tied for 32nd. Duong was nine-over (225) and Baek was 11-over (227). Taylor Mularski was close behind at 12-over (228) in a tie for 31st. Baek's 40 made pars were the third-most in the tournament.
 
The event closed out the Bulldogs' fall schedule. Gonzaga starts its spring slate with The Gold Rush in Seal Beach, Calif., hosted by Long Beach State. Live scoring will be available from the Old Ranch Country Club.
