SPOKANE, Wash. — Honoring six seniors in their final home game at the Martin Centre on Saturday afternoon, Gonzaga Volleyball fell to San Francisco in straight sets (23-25, 15-25, 17-25).
Prior to first serve, the Zags gave special recognition to six seniors — outside
Kennedy Croft, opposite McKenna Marshall, middle blocker
Alyssa Hughes, outside
Dani Batenhorst, middle Kelsie White and DS
Rhea Jansen — for their contributions to the Zag Volleyball program in their final home games in a Zag uniform.
Hughes led the Zags with 10 kills on team-high .563 hitting, with Marshall and Croft adding seven more apiece.
Zoe Thiros finished with six kills and a team-high 15 digs, serving up one of GU's three aces. Croft and Keau Kamake'eaina provided the other two, with Kamake'eaina producing 29 of GU's 30 assists.
The Bulldogs (6-20, 2-13 WCC) hit a game-high .306 with 12 kills and just one error in set one, but were undone by a 19-kill performance from the Dons that allowed them to hold on late. After nine errors in the first, USF only committed five more through the rest of the game to go with 24 kills while securing the sweep.
