SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's basketball team is ranked No. 23 in the most recent Associated Press Poll that was released Monday morning. The Bulldogs collected 85 votes following their impressive performance at the Battle 4 Atlantis, which included two top 25 wins in three days.
The Zags were last ranked in the poll on March 22, 2021, at No. 13. The highest ranking the Zags have ever reached in the poll was No. 11 in the 2019-20 season.
The Bulldogs are off to an 5-1 start this season with two wins over top 25 teams. Through six games, the Zags are averaging 75.8 points per game and shooting 44 percent from the floor. Four Bulldogs are averaging in double-figures including
Yvonne Ejim (18), Brynna Maxwell (13),
Kaylynne Truong (12.3) and
Eliza Hollingsworth (10.5). Maxwell is shooting 57.1 percent from the three-point line to rank first in the West Coast Conference and third nationally.
Gonzaga will host Maine tonight, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. in the McCarthey Athletic Center in its first game this season as a ranked program.
