SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's basketball team is ranked No. 25 in the most recent USA Today/WBCA Coaches Poll that was released Tuesday morning. The Bulldogs collected 63 votes after being ranked No. 23 in the AP Poll yesterday.
The Zags were last ranked in the Coaches Poll on March 22, 2021, at No. 13. The highest ranking the Zags have ever reached in the poll was No. 10 in the 2019-20 season.
The Bulldogs are off to an 6-1 start this season with two wins over top 25 teams. Through seven games, the Zags are averaging 73.9 points per game and shooting 44.4 percent from the floor. Four Bulldogs are averaging in double-figures including
Yvonne Ejim (16.9), Brynna Maxwell (13),
Kaylynne Truong (12.7) and
Eliza Hollingsworth (10.4). Maxwell is shooting 56.3 percent from the three-point line to rank first in the West Coast Conference and sixth nationally.
The Zags go on the road to Stephen F. Austin on Thursday, Dec. 1 with a 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time tip. The team then travels to No. 2 Stanford to take on the Cardinal on Sunday, Dec. 4 at noon. Live stats and live video can be found at GoZags.com for both games.
