SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Gonzaga's 
Drew Timme was named the University Credit Union West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second straight week the league announced Tuesday.
 
Timme received the honor for the seventh time in his GU career, earning the accolade three times in 2020-21 as a sophomore and twice last season.
 
Timme shot an efficient 63.6 percent from the field (21-33 FG) en route to averaging 27.5 points in victories over Northern Illinois and No. 4/5 Alabama. The senior also added 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 32.5 minutes.
 
In just 29 minutes of action versus NIU, Timme went for a game-high 26 points (9-15 FG, 8-9 FT), six rebounds and three assists, boosting the Bulldogs to a 21-point win. Then in a 100-90 road decision at nationally ranked Alabama, Timme came up clutch with a team-high 29 points (12-18 FG) and 10 rebounds, while dishing a game-high-tying four assists.
 
Timme's 21.2 points per game ranks 13th in the nation and tops the West Coast Conference. He also leads the conference shooting 62.6 percent from the field. He is seventh with 1.0 blocks per outing.
