Kaylynne Truong is this week's University Credit Union West Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week the league announced on Tuesday, Dec. 20. Truong is a first-time honoree after leading the Zags to a 2-0 start in the WCC. This also marks the third time this season that a Bulldog has been tabbed with the weekly honors as
Yvonne Ejim has won twice (Nov. 14 and 21).
UCU WCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KAYLYNNE TRUONG, SR., G – GONZAGA
Kaylynne Truong posted a pair of 20-point efforts last week to help Gonzaga open WCC action with a pair of victories. For the week, the senior averaged 22.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals. In a nine-point victory over BYU, Truong exploded for a career-high 24 points on a career-best eight field goals (8-16 FG), while adding four boards, four assists and a season-high three steals. Following an off day, Truong went back to work and delivered a game-high 20 points with two assists and one rebound to lead the way in a 70-59 win over San Diego.
