THE TIP OFF
- The Gonzaga Bulldogs host Pepperdine University this Thursday, Feb. 24.
- Gonzaga is coming off another double-digit WCC win with a 74-58 victory over Santa Clara on Monday, Feb. 21.
- The win against SCU marked head coach Lisa Fortier's 200th career victory at the helm. She is the fastest GU coach to reach the mark along with the youngest at only 40 years old.
- Kayleigh Truong leads the Zags with 11.2 points a game and her sister Kaylynne Truong is right behind her with 11 ppg. Melody Kempton is leading the team in boards with 6.5 a game. while averaging 10.8 points a game. Yvonne Ejim and Anamaria Virjoghe both have a team-high 35 blocks. Ejim has also recorded 41 steals this season as she is averaging 20.3 minutes off the bench.
- Cierra Walker is ranked 33rd in the country and first in the WCC in three-point field-goal percentage as she has averaged 41.8 percent so far this year.
- Melody Kempton is currently ranked second in the conference in field-goal percentage at 53.6 percent.
- From the charity stripe, the Zags are second in the WCC in free throws made (357) and second in free-throw percentage 76.8, which also ranks 20th in the nation.
