Box Score SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga women's tennis team completed a sweep on the weekend with a 5-2 win over South Dakota on Saturday.

The Bulldogs started on top after winning the doubles point on courts two and three. Tiegan Aitken and Kianna Oda teamed up in the second position and won 6-4 over Estella Jaeger and Anna Marija Bukina.

On the third court, Frederikke Svarre and Caroline Wernli defeated Natka Kmoskova and Bea Havlickova, 7-5, to clinch the point for GU.

Broerman and Sosnowska competed in the No. 1 spot, but fell in a close 6-4 match to Jana Lazarevic and Habiba Aly.

Going into singles already up 1-0, the Zags kept it up with Wernli coming off the court first to win 6-4, 6-2, in the No. 6 spot over Eesha Varma. In the No. 5 spot, Aitken defeated Bukina 7-6, 6-3, to put Gonzaga ahead 3-0.

Oda clinched the match for the Bulldogs in the No. 4 posiiton with a 7-6, 6-4, victory over Havlickova. 

The last three matches were battles for the Zags as they all went to three sets. The next player off the court was Sosnowska as she fell 6-2, 4-6, 3-6, on the second court. Svarre finished next as she fell 6-4, 2-6, 3-6, to Estella Jaeger in the No. 3 posiiton.

Rounding out competition was Broerman at No. 1 as she defeated Lazarevic 6-2, 5-7, 7-5, to give Gonzaga the final 5-2 lead. This marked the second match in a row that Broerman claimed a three-set victory on court one.

Next up: The Zags hit the road to play Colorado State on Friday, Feb. 11 at 5 p.m. They continue their road trip with a match against Colorado on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 9 a.m.
