PHOENIX, Ariz. – Gonzaga women's golf completed their final round of the Grand Canyon Invitational at GCU Championship Golf Course on Tuesday. The tournament was hosted by Grand Canyon University.
The Bulldogs finished in seventh place, combining to shoot 32-over (896) for the tournament. In the final round, GU shot 17-over (305) as a team, adding 57 pars and seven birdies on the day and bringing their tournament totals to 176 and 27.
Quynn Duong entered the final round in a tie for sixth place at one-under (143). A score of two-over (74) in Round 3 brought her overall score to one-over (217) where she finished in a tie for 10th place. She made 16 pars on the day, bringing her tournament total to 35 to go along with nine total birdies. Duong's final round included pars in each of her final 13 holes.
Chaewon Baek finished in a tie for 34th at nine-over (225). She carded a score of three-over (75) in Tuesday's final round, making 12 pars and two birdies along the way. Her 39 tournament pars were tied for third-most of any individual and matched teammate
Cassie Kim, who also finished with 39 pars for the event. Kim shot eight-over (80) on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 42nd at 11-over par (227).
Ivanna Montemayor turned in a score of five-over (77) in the final round, bringing her tournament total to 12-over (228). She finished in a tie for 46th.
Alyssa Nguyen (+19, 235) finished in a tie for 74th place after shooting seven-over (79) in the third round.
Grand Canyon's Alexis Linam won the individual title with a combined score of three-under (213), edging Seattle University's Samantha Bruce and SMU's Maddi Olson by one stroke. On the team leaderboard, Grand Canyon finished at the top, combining for four-under par (860) for the tournament.
Gonzaga will head to the island of Oahu next for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on March 6-8. The three-day tournament will be played at Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. Live scoring will be available at GoZags.com
