SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga men's and women's track and field kick off their outdoor season Saturday at the Sam Adams Classic, hosted by Whitworth University. Saturday's races will be the first of 16 events this outdoor season leading up to NCAA West Regionals May 25-28 and NCAA Outdoor Championships June 9-12, and the first of five held in Spokane.
The Zags return a pair of NCAA Qualifiers in James Mwaura (8th in the 5000m, 10th in the 10,000m) and Ben Hogan (16th in the 3000m Steeplechase). Over the indoor season, GU's women's runners combined to notch 10 times that ranked in the Top 10 of their respective races in program history, with the men recording seven top-ten times of their own.
