SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's tennis team had a match against Pepperdine earlier today and lost 4-0. Pepperdine is ranked No. 6 in the country in the ITA rankings.
 
Opening up today's doubles competition, Pepperdine's Shiori Fukuda and Savannah Broadus earned a 6-2 court two win against Gonzaga's Frederikke Svarre and Jenna Sloan.

In the No.1 spot, Pepperdine's Lisa Zaar and Taisiya Pachkaleva clinched the doubles point with their 6-3 victory over Gonzaga's Cate Broerman and Kianna Oda. Gonzaga's Tiegan Aitken and Adrianna Sosnowska's court three match against Pepperdine's Nikki Redelijk and Victoria Flores went unfinished, as Pepperdine had already clinched the doubles point.
 
Moving to the singles competition, Pepperdine extended their lead when Fukuda defeated Broerman 6-3, 6-1 on court one. In the No.6 spot, Aitken battled Redelijk and fell 6-2, 6-2, to give Pepperdine a 3-0 lead. expanded Pepperdine's lead.The match was clinched for Pepperdine after Svarre fell to Broadus, 6-1, 6-4 .
 
All other matches went unfinished, as Pepperdine had clinched the 4-0 victory.
 
Up next: Following today's loss, the Gonzaga women's tennis team has a quick turnaround as they face Loyola Marymount on Saturday, April 9th at noon. This will be the Zags second-to-last home match of the season, as they conclude the year at home against Portland on April 23rd.
