Zags Get At-Large Berth, No. 2 seed in Blacksburg Region For NCAA Tournament

Will Open Regional Play against No. 3 seed Columbia at 10 a.m. PST Friday

SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga baseball knows where it will be headed for its second straight year in the tournament after Tuesday's Selection Show — to Blacksburg, Va., in a region hosted by No. 4 overall seed Virginia Tech.

The Bulldogs (36-17, 20-7 WCC) matched a program best with their second No. 2 regional seed in as many years, set to open NCAA Tournament play on Friday against No. 3 seed Columbia (30-16, 17-4 Ivy League)  at 10 a.m. PST. GU is coming off a regular season that saw the Zags bring home their second straight West Coast Conference regular season title after never losing a conference weekend series. They've only dropped one weekend series all year.

The host seed Hokies (41-12, 19-9 ACC) will open against No. 4 seed Wright State (30-25, 20-9 Summit League). GU has never faced any of the three teams in its region in program history.

The winner of the Blacksburg Regional will face the winner of the Gainesville Regional in a potential Super Regional, hosted by No. 13 overall seed Florida.

Friday's game will be broadcasted on ESPN+, set for a 10 a.m. PST start. Live stats and streaming options are available on GoZags.com — follow @zagbaseball on Instagram and Twitter for live updates, highlights and more.
