BOSTON, Mass. — Led by a 13th-place individual finish from Kristen Garcia, Gonzaga women's cross country took fifth place at Friday's Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown at Franklin Park, with all seven Bulldog runners cracking the top 80 overall.
The Bulldogs finished with the same amount of points in the team total as fourth-place La Salle, dropping the tiebreaker thanks to overall winner Elizabeth Mancini (17:03). Virginia took first, ahead of Northeastern and Dartmouth in second and third.
Garcia crossed the finish line in 17:41, ahead of Sadie Tuckwood (18th. 17:53), Alicia Anderson (35th, 18:18), Caramia Mestler (48th, 18:30), Brittney Hansen (56th, 18:37), Makenna Edwards (65th, 18:45) and Kate Donaldson (77th, 18:56).
GU's men's and women's squads return to action in Lewiston, Idaho for the Inland Empire Classic on Oct. 8.
