THE TIPOFF
- The Gonzaga women's basketball team stays home this Saturday, Jan. 28, to host the Pepperdine Waves at 2 p.m. 
- GU is coming off an 66-55 win over LMU on Jan. 26 to remain a perfect 10-0 in the WCC. Kaylynne Truong led the way with 19 points and Yvonne Ejim scored 15 to extend GU's winning streak to 13 games.
- The Zags have three players currently averaging double digits in so far this season, including Yvonne Ejim (16.7), Kaylynne Truong (15.8), and Brynna Maxwell (14.1). Ejim currently is third and Truong is sixth in the WCC in scoring. Maxwell also is 10th in the conference.
- The Bulldogs are currently shooting at a program record 79.7 percent from the free throw line, which also ranks second in the country. Brynna Maxwell leads the team individually with 96.4  percent, which leads the conference. She currently has only missed two free throws so far this year. 
- Brynna Maxwell has made a three-pointer in every game so far this season. Maxwell is shooting 50.4 percent from the three-point line to rank first in the country. 
- As a team, the Bulldogs are shooting a record breaking 40.6 percent from beyond the arc, which is currently ranked first in the nation. 
- Kaylynne Truong is currently dishing out 5.3 assists a game to rank first in the conference and 23rd in the country. Overall, she has recorded 117 assists which is good for 14th in the nation. She has also scored in double figures in 12-straight games, and 19 games total this year.
- Gonzaga is on an 13-game winning streak with its last loss being against No. 2 Stanford on Dec. 4. The streak ranks fourth in the country as the team sits in first-place in the WCC. The Zags are also undefeated at home this year at 11-0 and has won 16-straight in the Kennel. 
- GU is ranked 33rd in the country in scoring margin with 14.1 points and 27th in field goal percentage with 46 percent. 
- The Bulldogs were picked to win the West Coast Conference. The Zags received nine first-place votes that and totaled 81 points in the poll. The poll is voted on by the league's 10 head coaches, and coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team. Portland received one first-place votes and was selected to finish second with 71 points, while BYU was voted to finish third with 55 points.
- Gonzaga has amassed a conference record of 257-33 (.886) during the last 17 seasons, which includes 16 West Coast Conference regular-season titles and nine WCC Tournament championships.
- Seniors Kayleigh Truong, Kaylynne Truong and junior Yvonne Ejim were named to the Preseason All-WCC Team. 
- Last season, the Zags advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth-straight year under Lisa Fortier.

THE SERIES
SERIES INFO: This will be the 80th matchup between the two programs and the Zags hold a 49-30 record over the Waves.    
STREAK: Gonzaga - 13    
FIRST MEETING: In 1988, the Zags won 60-59 on the road.    
LAST MEETING: The Bulldogs defeated the Waves earlier this season, 77-63, in Malibu on Dec. 29. Kaylynne Truong hit six 3-pointers and scored 26 points.     

SCOUTING THE WAVES
- Pepperdine is coming off a 70-57 loss at Portland on Thursday night. The Waves currently sit at 7-13 overall and 2-8 in the conference. On the road, they are 1-7 this year.
- The Waves are led by Ally Stedman, who scores 15.4 points a game. Two other players average double figures, Theresa Mbanefo (12.9) and Marly Walls (12.2) Mbanefo also leads the Waves in rebounds with 5.6 a game.
- Pepperdine ranks top-five in three categories on the WCC leaderboard. The Waves are second in rebounds per game (39.5), third in blocks per game (3.4), and fifth in shooting percentage (41.9).
- Marly Walls leads Pepperdine in assists and ranks fourth in the WCC averaging 4.5 per game. She averages 1.6 steals per game which is sixth in the WCC. Walls ranks eighth in free throw percentage (82.3%) and averages 11.8 points per game which is good for 17th in the WCC. She is also averaging 5.3 rebounds per game ranking her 17th.
