Bodart Ties for 13th in Maui

Zags place 14th in fall finale

LAHAINA, Hawaii – Gonzaga men's golfer Guillermo Polo Bodart tied for 13th at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic Saturday. In the final tournament of the fall season, he had a program record low 204 54-hole total, finishing nine-under.
 
At the Royal Ka'anapali Course, Bodart carded a final round of 65 (-6), matching the lowest round in program history. He made eight birdies and eight pars in Round 3. The sophomore was three-under (2.75) on the course's Par-3 holes, which was second in the event in the 120-golfer field. Bodart opened the tournament with a 68 (-3) in the first round, which featured an eagle on the Par-5 sixth hole. He was even-par (71) in Round 2, with three birdies and 12 pars.
 
Gonzaga finished 14th as a team at five-under (847), matching the third-lowest team total in program history. It was the Bulldogs lowest team total ever at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic. GU's 278 (-6) second round total matches the ninth-lowest round all-time for the program.
 
Jace Minni was even-par (213) and tied for 63rd. After a 71 (E) in the first round, he carded a 69 (-2) in Round 2. The Delta, B.C., native, also eagled the sixth hole in a second round that featured two birdies and 13 pars. He was two-over (3) in the final round with five birdies.
 
Playing as an individual, Ethan Flynn also tied for 63rd at even-par (213). A three-under (68) first round highlighted his tournament.
 
Daniel Nunez and Bruce Chang both tied for 75th at three-over (216). Nunez was three-under (68) in the second round. In the third round, he eagled the Par-5 ninth hole. Chang carded a 70 (-1) in Round 2, and made two birdie and 13 pars in the first round. Andrew Reinhardt was 15-over (228) in the event.
 
Oklahoma's Luke Kluver took medalist honors at 18-under (195). Mats Ege of East Tennessee State was second at 15-under (198). Oklahoma and East Tennessee State were co-champions at 42-under (810).
 
Gonzaga opens its spring schedule at the Orange County Collegiate Classic in Dana Point, Calif., Feb. 12-13. Live scoring will be available on GoZags.com.
