SPOKANE, Wash. – Five players scored in double figures in an 80-64 victory over Wyoming for the
Gonzaga women's basketball team.
Kayleigh Truong scored a team-high 18 points and also dished out six assists.
Yvonne Ejim was right behind her with 17 points as she recorded her 11th career double double with 10 rebounds as well.
Eliza Hollingsworth and
Brynna Maxwell both scored 13 points and
Maud Huijbens scored 12 points for the second-straight game.
Kaylynne Truong led the team in assists with eight and zero turnovers in 29 minutes of action.
The
Zags (4-1) went on a 14-0 run in the first to take a 18-6 lead early on. Maxwell led the team with 10 points alone as the
Zags outscored the Cowgirls, 25-18. The Bulldogs also controlled the boards and
outrebounded Wyoming, 11-3, as
Ejim recorded four.
Kayleigh Truong went 3-for-4 from the floor in the second quarter to score eight points for GU. The
Zags took a 43-33 lead going into the half as the team held Wyoming (2-2) to 15 points in the second frame.
Ejim nearly recorded a double double in the first half with eight points and rebounds.
Kayleigh Truong and Maxwell both led the team in double digit scoring with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The Bulldogs had a 6-0 run in the third quarter as they outscored Wyoming, 24-18. Hollingsworth led the team with seven points and the
Zags shot at 68.8 percent from the floor.
Gonzaga held Wyoming to zero points in nearly the last three minutes of regulation. The
Zags closed out the game with 13 more points with Huijbens scoring a team-high five as she played in the entire fourth quarter.
Overall, GU
outrebounded the Cowgirls, 36-24. The
Zags shot at 48.5 percent and scored nine three-pointers on the night. Defensively, Gonzaga forced 16 turnovers and scored 27 points off those miscues. The Bulldogs scored 40 points inside the paint and recorded 22 assists as both
Truongs combined for 14.

Zags scored in double figures, which last happened on Jan. 21, 2023, against Saint Mary's.
Yvonne Ejim recorded her first double double this season and her 11th overall with 17 points and 10 rebounds. She also dished out five assists on the night.
Gonzaga extends its home game winning streak to 23 games, which is the third-best in the country.
GU moves to 9-1 against the Cowgirls and have won the last nine contests.
