THE TIPOFF
- The Gonzaga women's basketball team travels to No. 24 Washington State on Nov. 9. Going into the season, the Bulldogs are receiving votes in both the AP and Coaches Poll. 
- GU is coming off am 83-70 win over Montana on Nov. 6. Four Zags scored in double figures to secure the road victory against the Griz. WCC Player of the Year Kaylynne Truong led the way with 19 points as Yvonne Ejim (17pts), Eliza Hollingsworth (16pts) and Kayleigh Truong (11pts) also recorded a double digit scoring effort in the opening game.
- Yvonne Ejim recorded her 1,000th career point against Montana. The senior forward also has recorded over over 500 rebounds.
- Kaylynne Truong was one of 20 point guards in the country named to the Nancy Lieberman Award watch list. Brynna Maxwell was also one of 20 shooting guards in the country named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch list.
- Yvonne Ejim, Brynna Maxwell and Kaylynne Truong were named to the preseason watch list for the 2024 Becky Hammon Player of the Year Award. Gonzaga is the only team with multiple players on the watch list and becomes the first team to ever place three players on a single list.
- Lisa Fortier was recently named to the 2024 Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year Award preseason watch list. This year's watch list includes coaches from 16 conferences.
- The Bulldogs were picked to win the West Coast Conference. The Zags received eight first-place votes that and totaled 64 points in the poll. 
- Gonzaga has amassed a conference record of 274-34 (.889) during the last 18 seasons, which includes 17 West Coast Conference regular-season titles and nine WCC Tournament championships.
- Graduate students Brynna Maxwell, Kayleigh Truong, Kaylynne Truong and senior Yvonne Ejim were named to the Preseason All-WCC Team. 
- The Zags won the West Coast Conference Regular Season Title for the 18th time in program history by going 17-1 in conference play last season.
- The Bulldogs ended the season with three players averaging double digits including Yvonne Ejim (16.8), Kaylynne Truong (15.8), Brynna Maxwell (13.5). All three return to GU this year.
- Last season, GU had a record breaking performance from the three point line. The team recorded a program record 40.5 shooting percentage, which led the country.
- Brynna Maxwell made a three-pointer in every regular season game last year and shot at 48.1 percent on the year to lead the nation for the majority of the season.
- Last season, Gonzaga advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth-straight year under Lisa Fortier.

THE SERIES
SERIES INFO: This will be the 31st matchup against the Cougs for GU with the series dating back to 1984. WSU currently leads 19-11 in the series.     
STREAK: WSU - 1    
FIRST MEETING: In 1984, GU traveled to Pullman and lost 74-61.    
LAST MEETING: Washington State came to the McCarthey Athletic Center in 2022 and won 51-49. Prior to that year, GU had won the last four matchups. 

SCOUTING THE COUGS
- WSU returns eight players from last year's Pac-12 Conference Tournament Championship team including three starters who won a program-record 23 games (23-11, 9-9 Pac-12) and were ranked as high as No. 22 in the AP Poll after captured the program's first Pac-12 Women's Basketball Championship. WSU knocked off three straight ranked teams in Las Vegas en route to the 2023 Pac-12 Tournament Championship and clinched their third-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. Kamie Ethridge, the 2022-23 National Coach of the Year by The Athletic, will see three All-Pac-12 players return this season led by All-America guard Charlisse Leger-Walker.
- The Cougs are coming off a 78-61 victory over Cal Poly on Monday night. WSU had five players score in double figures in the season opening win.
- For the first time in program history, Washington State was voted to the Preseason Associated Press Top-25 Poll, appearing at No. 24. WSU was picked to finish fifth by the Pac-12 Conference coaches and media, matching the best preseason pick in program history after also being picked fifth ahead of the 1991-92 season.
- Guard Charlisse Leger-Walker and center Bella Murekatete were both named the 2023-24 Preseason All-Pac-12 Conference Team as voted on by the conference's coaches and media. Ledger-Walker earns Preseason All-Pac-12 honors for the third-straight season after an All-America campaign last season.
