MILLBRAE, Calif. – Gonzaga women's golf placed sixth in the Silicon Valley Showcase at the Green Hills Country Club Golf Course Tuesday.
Quynn Duong led the Bulldogs, tying for 16th place at 15-over (228). She carded a 74 (+3) in her opening round, before finishing her final rounds at 76 (+5) and 78 (+7). Duong made 31 pars and seven birdies across the two days. On the course's Par-4 holes, she was six-over (4.18).
As a team, the Zags finished the Silicon Valley Showcase at 81-over (933). Their opening round was their lowest of the tournament at 297. Gonzaga finished with two golfers in the Top-20.
Cassie Kim tied for 18th place at 16-over (229). She made a combined 35 pars in the tournament. Grace Lee tied for 29th place at 22-over (235) and Alyssa Nguyen tied for 46th place at 29-over (242). Taylor Mularski placed 51st at 37-over (250), while Chaewon Baek placed 54th playing as an individual.
Pepperdine's Lion Higo took home medalist honors at one-over (214). She held off Stanford's Sadie Englemann and Kelly Xu, who both finished at two-over (215). Stanford and Pepperdine tied for the team title at 17-over (869).
The West Coast Conference Championships is up next for Gonzaga at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash., April 20-22.
