PORTLAND, Ore. -- Earlier this morning, the Gonzaga women's tennis team concluded their regular season with an away conference dual match against Portland. Coming into the match, the Zags had won the previous six matches against the Pilots, two of which were sweeps.
Opening with the doubles competition, Portland picked up an early win when Rimona Rouf and Aleksandra Dimitrijevic defeated Gonzaga's
Cate Broerman and
Jenna Sloan by a score of 6-2 on court two. In the No.1 spot, Portland's Iva Zelic and Sally Pethybridge clinched the doubles point with their 6-4 victory against Gonzaga's
Kianna Oda and
Adrianna Sosnowska.
With Portland having already clinched the doubles point, the court three match between Gonzaga's
Rose Hayes and
Tiegan Aitken and Portland's Meagan Pearson and Alaia Rubio Perez was left unfinished, ending with a score of 5-4.
Moving to the singles competition, Portland increased their lead when Zelic earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Broerman on court one. Shortly after, Rouf picked up a 6-4, 6-2 court three win against Oda. In the No.2 spot, Pethybridge clinched the team victory for Portland when she defeated Sosnowska by a score of 6-2, 7-6.
The remaining three singles matches saw Gonzaga battle against a talented Portland squad. On court four, Gonzaga earned their first team point of the match when Sloan defeated Dimitrijevic, ending with a score of 6-4, 6-4. In the No.6 spot, Rubio Perez claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win over Hayes. In the final singles match of the day, Aitken earned a 6-4, 6-4 court five victory against Pearson.
Up Next: Today's match against Portland concludes the spring dual season for the Zags. Gonzaga will now wait to see whether their ITA Ranking will provide them a spot in the WCC Tournament, which will begin on April 27th.
Records: Today's match moves the season record for the Zags to 13-11. For Portland, the win improves their record on the year to 10-8. The historical record between Gonzaga and Portland also moves to 12-19 in favor of the Pilots.

Head Coach Pluskota-Hamberg
This year marks the first winning season under Coach Pluskota-Hamberg, as the Zags won five more matches than last season. Also, Coach Pluskota-Hamberg moves to third in total wins by a Gonzaga women's tennis head coach, with 21, and third in winning percentage as a head coach.
Adrianna Sosnowska
Following her excellent senior season, Sosnowska now ranks first for court two singles victories in a single season, ending the year with 11 wins. Also, Sosnowska and Broerman's doubles pair is now tied for the sixth-most doubles wins in a season, with 12, and tied for fifth for the most doubles tournament wins in a season, with six. Sosnowska ends her career at Gonzaga with the second-most court two singles wins, with 22, in program history.
Cate Broerman
Concluding her fourth season with the Zags, Broerman is now tied for the fifth-most career tournament singles wins, with 10, and most career court one wins in a single season, with 11. Also, Broerman ends her career with Gonzaga tied for the eighth-most singles wins in a season, closing this season with 21 total singles victories. Over her entire career with Gonzaga, Broerman now has the second-most court one wins in program history, with 24 victories, and the second-most conference wins, with 20 conference wins, over her career.
Jenna Sloan
In her final season with the Zags, Sloan is now tied for the fifth-most conference wins in program history, with 12, and is fifth for the most court four wins in a career, with nine.
Kianna Oda
Oda finishes her junior season tied for the sixth-most court three wins in a single season, ending the year with nine court three victories.
Tiegan Aitken
Throughout Aitken's career, she now has the second-most court five wins, with 14, in program history.
Rose Hayes
In an impressive freshman season for Hayes, she ends the year tied for the fourth-most court six victories in a single season, with 10 wins on the year. Also, Hayes is now tied for sixth for the most dual singles wins in a single season, with 14 total singles victories this year.
