SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's soccer announced its 2023 schedule Wednesday. The 18-match slate features nine home games, with two additional exhibition matches at Luger Field.
 
Ten of the Bulldogs' 18 opponents this upcoming season had winning records in 2022, with three advancing to the second round in the NCAA Tournament.
 
The Zags open with a pair of home exhibitions against Washington State and Trinity Western (B.C.) on Aug. 10 and 12. GU then starts the regular season at the 2023 Outrigger Soccer Kickoff in Honolulu. The season-opener features the first-ever meeting between the Bulldogs and Houston Christian on Aug. 17, before a matchup with the hosts Hawaii on Aug. 20.
 
Four straight home matches follow beginning under the lights with Weber State on Aug. 24. Gonzaga picked up a 3-0 win at Weber State last season. The Zags host Nebraska in the second all-time meeting between the programs on Aug. 27.
 
Gonzaga hosts Montana, Oklahoma and Utah Tech in a tournament at Luger Field on Aug. 31 and Sept. 3. Doubleheaders include Utah Tech versus Montana and GU against Oklahoma on Aug. 31. The second day starts with Oklahoma versus Montana, followed by Utah Tech versus the Zags.
 
Up next for the Bulldogs are road trips at Cal Poly (Sept. 7) and Texas (Sept. 10). Cal Poly went 6-1-3 in Big West play in 2022, while the Longhorns were unbeaten in the Big 12 and went 15-3-4 overall. Texas ended its season in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Longhorns rallied for a thrilling 3-2 victory at GU last year.
 
On Sept. 16, the Zags welcome Arizona to Luger Field. GU won in Tucson last season, 1-0. The Bulldogs close the non-conference slate with a cross-country trip to South Florida, for the first-ever matchup against the Bulls on Sept. 24.
 
Gonzaga opens West Coast Conference action at home against San Diego on Sept. 30. The Zags have won the last five meetings with the Toreros, with shutout victories in the last four. GU is at Portland on Oct. 4. The Bulldogs are unbeaten in the last five meetings against the Pilots, winning four including the last two matchups. Portland also advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2022.
 
After a home matchup with San Francisco on Oct. 7, back-to-back road games at Saint Mary's and Pacific follow on Oct. 14 and 18. GU rides a five-match win streak over SMC.
 
The Bulldogs host defending WCC champion Santa Clara on Oct. 28. The Broncos went 7-0-2 in league play last season and ended the year in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Gonzaga and SCU played to a scoreless draw in Santa Clara in 2022.
 
In the home regular season finale, the Zags welcome Loyola Marymount for Senior Night on Nov. 1. GU has won the last five meetings against the Lions. The Bulldogs close the regular season at Pepperdine on Nov. 4.
