SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga men's soccer team tied Seattle, 1-1, in front of a large crowd at Luger Field Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (2-1-3) remained unbeaten at home with a second straight 1-1 draw. Despite being outshot 16-4, and 11-4 in shots on goal, GU's defense was solid.
Wessel Sprangers made nine saves in the Zag net. The Redhawks (4-1-1) finished with a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks as well.
Gonzaga's
Ben Augee opened the scoring in the ninth minute. His second goal of the season was off
Cam Bain's first assist of the year.
Seattle found the equalizer in the 32
nd minute. Jeremy Opong scored his second goal of the season. Richy Lapointe-Guevara was credited with his second assist of the season.
The Bulldogs are at UNLV (1-3-0) Thursday at 7:30 p.m., before visiting Utah Tech Sunday at 10 a.m.
