DUPONT, Wash. – Gonzaga women's golfer
Grace Lee tied for 27
th at the season-opening Leadership and Golf Invitational hosted by Seattle University.
Lee was four-over (220) in the 54-hole event at Chambers Bay Golf Course. She carded a team-low in the event, 70 (-2) in the final round with five birdies and 11 pars. She opened the tournament with a 73 (+1).
The Bulldogs placed 17
th as a team. GU was 51-over (915) in the tournament. The Zags had their best round in the first round at 12-over (300).
Esther Yoo was 12-over (228) and placed 59
th. In her collegiate debut, the freshman was three-over (75) in the first round and one-over (73) in the second round.
Chaewon Baek and
Vanessa Zhang finished in 73
rd and 84
th. Baek was 16-over (232) over the three rounds, while Zhang was 19-over (235). Both Baek and Zhang opened the event four-over (76) in Round 1. Taylor Mularksi was 30-over (246) in the tournament.
Southern California was the lone team under par, placing first at 27-under (837). Minnesota was second at four-over (868). USC swept the top three spots on the individual leaderboard with Amari Avery taking medalist honors at nine-under (207). Catherine Park and Brianna Navarrosa tied for second at seven-under (209).
