CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Gonzaga men's soccer team traveled to Oregon State on Friday night and fell to the Beavers, 4-2.
Oregon State (8-2-2) scored the first two goals of the game in the sixth and 24
th minute. Both goals were scored by Arnau Farnos as OSU took the early 2-0 lead.
Gonzaga (6-6-2) responded in the 37
th minute with a goal from
Hudson Brunk and the assist coming from
Victor Gadea, to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Beavers found the back of the net again in the 44
th minute with Farnos scoring his third goal of the night, extending Oregon State's lead to 3-1.
At the half, GU trailed 3-1 as OSU outshot the Zags, 9-3.
Oregon State added to its lead in the 51
st minute with an unassisted goal from Enzo Newman to make it 4-1.
In the 88
th minute,
Geremi Onentia scored his first goal in a Zag uniform to make the final score 4-2 against OSU.
Overall, Gonzaga outshout OSU 18-17 and
Chris Swider led the way with four of those. Five different Zags also recorded a shot on goal.
Chema Preciado made five saves on the night as four different Zags recorded a shot on goal.
