SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga baseball released its 27-game non-conference schedule for the 2025 season on Monday.
Gonzaga's non-conference slate features teams from five different conferences, including five teams from the Big 12 and Big Ten. For the second straight season, the Bulldogs will not play any neutral site games during their non-conference schedule.
Head coach Mark Machtolf will begin his 22nd season at the helm and 35th season overall at Gonzaga in 2025. Machtolf has 597 career wins during his tenure at GU, needing three to become just the second coach in program history to eclipse 600. Last season, Machtolf became the second coach in West Coast Conference history to reach 300 conference wins.
Gonzaga opens its regular season Feb. 14-16 at UC Davis, with the Bulldogs and Aggies facing off for the first time since 2015. UC Davis was 29-27 last season and finished seventh in a loaded Big West Conference that saw two teams make NCAA Tournament appearances. Next, Gonzaga will travel to Waco, Texas Feb. 21-23 to face Baylor for the first time ever.
The Zags will play its Patterson Baseball Complex and Coach Steve Hertz Field opener in the month of February for the first time since 2008. GU is set to host BYU Feb. 27 – Mar. 1 before welcoming Seattle University on Mar. 5 for their first midweek of the season.
The Bulldogs will hit the road for the majority of March, beginning Mar. 7-9 at Arizona State. GU and ASU will face off for the first time since 2016 at the Fort Worth Regional. Last season, the Sun Devils finished with a 32-26 record and placed fifth in the Pac-12. A brief stop for the Zags at Utah Tech on Mar. 11 will mark their first-ever meeting.
An in-state trip to Seattle is next for Gonzaga, who will play a three-game series at Washington Mar. 14-16 before their second meeting with Seattle University on Mar. 17. The Zags and Huskies have not squared off in a three-game set since 2006.
Amidst GU's West Coast Conference slate, Gonzaga and Washington State are set to meet in four midweek games. The first two will take place Mar. 25 in Spokane and Apr. 1 in Pullman.
After hosting Southern California in Spokane last Spring, the Zags will head to Irvine, Calif., for a three-game series against the Trojans Apr. 17-19. On their way home, Gonzaga will stop in Corvallis, Ore., to face an Oregon State squad fresh off an NCAA Super Regional appearance in 2024. GU and OSU will play on back-to-back days Apr. 21-22.
The final two non-conference games are slated for Apr. 29 and May 13 against Washington State. GU will head first head to Pullman on Apr. 29 before hosting the Cougars in Spokane for the last home game of the regular season on May 13.
Game times and streaming information will follow in the near future.
