SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In their penultimate match of the 2024 season, Gonzaga volleyball fell in straight sets at Santa Clara on Wednesday. The Broncos strung out set victories of 25-18, 25-17, 25-16 inside the Leavey Center.
 
Elena Radeff was the match leader with 18 kills for Santa Clara (11-16, 7-11 WCC), who wrapped their season on Wednesday. Maggie Rickert was the Gonzaga (1-26, 0-17 WCC) leader with nine kills, adding 12 digs on defense.
 
Similar to their previous match at Loyola Marymount on Saturday, the Bulldogs faced an early battle before Santa Clara eventually pulled away. The Broncos broke a 9-9 tie before promptly building a six-point lead (19-13). The lead seemed to be enough as SCU completed the 25-18 win behind seven kills from Radeff.
 
Once again in the second, Santa Clara broke a 9-9 tie before building a 19-13 lead. Radeff's 15th kill of the match completed the 25-17 win as SCU expanded to a 2-0 lead.
 
After an eight-point win in set two, Santa Clara finished slightly better in the third with a nine-point, 25-16 win to complete the sweep. Oren Abutbul led with six kills in the final frame, just one more than Raechelle Dykstra's five to lead the Zags.
 
Abutbul and Radeff were the lone hitters in double figures on Wednesday. Gonzaga's Rickert and Maddie Cugino were the lone defenders with 10+ digs, each recording a dozen.
