THE OPENING TIP
- Gonzaga faces No. 14/16 Indiana in the 2024 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis in the Imperial Arena on Paradise Island, Bahamas, Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
- In their last game, Gonzaga fell to West Virginia, 86-76, in overtime in the opening game of the Battle 4 Atlantis Wednesday. Braden Huff led the Zags with 19 points off the bench, wile Khalif Battle and Nolan Hickman added 16 and 13. Ryan Nembhard had 12 assists with only one turnover.
- The Bulldogs went 27-of-31 from the free-throw line in the win at San Diego State. The last time Gonzaga shot 85 percent with 30 or more free throw attempts was versus Santa Clara on Jan. 16, 2020. The last time GU did it on the road was at Santa Clara on Jan. 5, 2013.
- Ryan Nembhard's 59 assists tops the nation through six games. Nembhard's 9.8 assists per game also leads the country. The senior has seven turnovers. His 8.43 assist-to-turnover ratio is third in the country.
 
SCOUTING THE HOOSIERS
- Indiana opens the season 4-1, and fell to the consolation bracket following an 89-61 loss to Louisville Wednesday. Malik Reneau led the Hoosiers with 21 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Oumar Ballo added 11 points and six rebounds.
- Four Hoosiers are averaging double-digit scoring led by Mgbako Mackenzie's 16.6 points at 54.7 percent from the field. He's also made 52.6 percent from three-point range with a team-high 10 three-pointers.
- Oumar Ballo adds 11.8 points and nine rebounds per outing. He's shooting 68.6 percent from the field.
 
SERIES INFO
- The all-time series between Gonzaga and Indiana is tied at 2-2.
- The Zags won the latest matchup, 70-54, in the 2008 Hartford Classic, on Dec. 6, 2008.
- Indiana edged GU in the first meeting, 76-75, in the 2002 Maui Invitational semifinals.
- The second and third meetings were in the 2006 and 2007 NCAA Tournaments. GU won in the second round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament, 90-80. The Hoosiers won the first round of the NCAA Tournament, 70-57.
