Box Score SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Gonzaga women's basketball team stayed on the road to face the San Diego Toreros and came out with the 66-59 win.
Yvonne Ejim paced the Bulldogs (6-7, 1-1 WCC) with 29 points and eight rebounds.
Maud Huijbens was the other Zag in double digits with 10 points and eight rebounds as well.
The Zags went on a 14-0 run in the first half to take the 27-24 lead going into halftime. Ejim led the Bulldogs with 10 points. GU outscored the Toreros in the second quarter, 16-8, and shot 46.2% from the floor. Defensively, Gonzaga forced 12 turnovers and scored nine points off USD's miscues.
The rebounding battle was even at the half, 17-17.

Claire O'Connor and Ejim all had two each to pace the Zags.
Gonzaga extended its lead to 42-37 with just over a minute remaining in the third quarter. The Bulldogs took a 10 -point lead midway through the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run fueled by Huijbens.
The Zags closed out the game by outscoring USD in the final 10 minutes, 22-19. Gonzaga shot 50% from the floor in the last quarter to secure its first WCC win of the season.
Overall, GU outrebounded USD, 40-35. Ejim and Huijbens both grabbed eight rebounds to lead Gonzaga. The Bulldogs held the Toreros to 33.3% shooting while GU shot 46.7% overall. GU also went 50% from the three while holding USD to 17.6%.
Notes: Ejim has scored double digits in 55-straight games. She has now scored 1,916 points at Gonzaga. This also marks the ninth time this season that she has scored 20 points or more in a game.
