CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Gonzaga baseball traveled to Austin Peay for their first midweek game of the season, falling 6-4 on Monday. Trailing 6-0 after five innings, the Zags put up a run in the sixth and three in the seventh, but their rally fell short.
 
Austin Peay (8-1) is now riding an eight-game win streak after dropping their season opener. On Monday, Ambren Voitik highlighted the Governor's offense going 4-for-4 and hitting for APSU's first cycle since 2017. Voitik tripled in the second, homered in the fourth, doubled in the fifth and singled in the seventh to secure his first career cycle.
 
Gonzaga (1-6) found some pop from their outfielders on Monday, as Max Coupe and Vincent Temesvary each connected for their first homeruns in GU uniforms. Coupe took Austin Peay starter Lyle Miller-Green deep to left center on a full count in the sixth, before Temesvary smoked a two-run shot in the seventh.
 
The Zags continued to rally in the seventh, loading the bases after the Temesvary homer. Jace Phelan drew a walk to bring home Gonzaga's fourth run of the day, but a strikeout and a popup ended the inning.
 
Miller-Green (2-0) earned the win for Austin Peay, lasting six innings and giving up two runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Miles Gostzola (0-1) was tagged with the loss for Gonzaga. The GU bullpen kept the Zags in striking distance once again, providing seven innings of three run, six hit ball.
