No. 16/19 WBB Hosts Annual Pink Game against LMU on Saturday

The Zags close out their three-straight home games against the Lions

THE TIPOFF
- The No. 19/16 Gonzaga women's basketball team stays home this Saturday to host LMU.
- GU is coming off an 83-46 win over Pepperdine on Thursday. Kaylynne Truong hit five 3-pointers and scored 19 points to lead the Bulldogs as GU's leading scorer Yvonne Ejim is currently with Team Canada in Hungary to help qualify for the 2024 Olympics.
- Gonzaga is currently on a 31 home game winning streak. It ranks second in the country South Carolina (51). Gonzaga's 17-straight wins is third in the country along with their 23-2 (.920) record. Their 23 wins is the most in the country.
- GU is currently defeating conference opponents by an average of 31.6 points.
- Five Zags are averaging double digits in scoring including Yvonne Ejim (20.3), Brynna Maxwell (14), Kayleigh Truong (12.7), Kaylynne Truong (11.4) and Eliza  Hollingsworth (10.1).
- Head coach Lisa Fortier currently sits at 256-61 in her career. Among active Division I coaches, she is fifth in winning percentage at 80.8%.
- The Zags are second in the country and first in the WCC in three-point percentage at 40.5%. GU's 49.1% in field goals also ranks eighth. From the free throw line, GU is fifth with 79.7%.
- Kaylynne Truong is fourth in the nation and first in the conference in assists with 151 so far this year along with 12th in the country in assists per game with 6.1.
- Brynna Maxwell has made a three-pointer in every game this season and is seventh in the country with 70 three-pointers made this season. She sits at 12th overall with 44.6% from beyond the arc.
- Yvonne Ejim is third in the country in field goals with 209 scored this season. Her 487 points scored this year ranks 12th in the nation. Ejim has also scored double figures for 30-straight games and has scored at least 20 points in 14 games this season. 
- Ejim is shooting at 65.1%, which ranks fifth in the country and first in the WCC. She is currently averaging 20.3 ppg, which is ranked 19th in the nation and first in the conference.
- Yvonne Ejim has been named to the Katrina McClain Top 10 Power Forward Watch list, the Wade Trophy Watch List along with the Becky Hammon Player of the Year Midseason Watch List. She has been WCC Player of the Week five times this season. She was also ESPN's Player of the Week and the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week (12/4). 
- Lisa Fortier was recently named to the 2024 Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year Award midseason watch list. This year's watch list includes coaches from eight conferences.
- The Bulldogs were picked to win the West Coast Conference this season by the league's coaches.
- Gonzaga has amassed a conference record of 274-34 (.889) during the last 18 seasons. 
- Last season, GU advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth-straight year under Lisa Fortier.

SERIES INFO: This will be the 77th matchup between the two programs and the Zags hold a 56-21 record over the Lions.            
STREAK: Gonzaga - 32            
FIRST MEETING: In 1985, the Zags won 100-78 on the road.            
LAST MEETING: The Bulldogs traveled to LMU earlier this year and won 72-48. Yvonne Ejim scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Gonzaga handed coach Lisa Fortier her 250th victory.       

SCOUTING THE LIONS
- LMU is currently in sixth place in the West Coast Conference standings at 4-6 in the conference and 9-13 overall. They are currently on a two game losing streak. 
- The Lions are coming off a tough 58-52 loss at Portland. Nicole Rodriguez led the Lions with 13 points, while Amaya Oliver and Alexis Mark contributed 10 points each.
- Alexis Mark leads LMU with 11.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game this season. 
- LMU ranks first in the conference and 69th in the country in offensive rebounds per game with 13.2.
