SAN DIEGO, Calif. – San Diego's bats picked up where they left off on Saturday to secure the series sweep over Gonzaga with a 19-0 win on Sunday at Fowler Park.
 
San Diego (30-12, 14-4 WCC) extends their lead in the West Coast Conference standings, while Gonzaga (17-23, 12-6 WCC) drops into third place with the loss.
 
The Toreros wasted no time, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first on five hits and leaving two runners aboard. GU starter Miles Gosztola (L, 2-3) settled down in the second and third innings, posting scoreless frames until USD chased him in the fourth. After it was all said and done, San Diego scored six times to open a 9-0 lead.
 
They wouldn't stop there, scoring two runs in the fifth and sixth innings before another six-spot in the eighth made it 19-0.
 
Gonzaga was only able to muster five baserunners all afternoon on just two hits and three walks. San Diego starter Austin Smith (W, 3-0) posted five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while the bullpen did the same with their combined four innings in relief.
