Bettencourt played two seasons at UConn and appeared in 28 games in the 2023-24 season. She totaled 18 points, 21 rebounds and 16 assists on the year.

During her freshman year in 2022-23, Bettencourt played in 25 games and started in one of those. She averaged 1.4 points and 1.2 assists per game.

In 2023, she was the second-youngest player on the roster at the 2023 U20 European Championship and ranked second on the team with 9.7 points and 3.3 assists a game. In 2022, she also represented Portugal at the 2022 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship. She led Portugal and ranked fourth in the tournament with 14.4 points per game with 54.6 steals, 3.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists as she was named to the All-Star Five.

Lisa Fortier on Bettencourt: Ines is going to be a great addition to our team. She is coming from a high level program, and knows how to work hard every day. She has a drive to continue to improve, and has shown a balance of poise and urgency in stressful game situations, which is critical for a point guard. We can't wait to get Ines on campus and get to work!
