
Trio of Zags Earn CSC Academic All-District

Tommy Eisenstat, Donovan Ratfield, and Vincent Temesvary each earn academic nods
SPOKANE, Wash - Gonzaga's Tommy Eisenstat, Donovan Ratfield, and Vincent Temesvary were named to College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District Team for 2024, the outlet announced on Tuesday.
Sporting a 3.81 cumulative GPA while pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies, Eisenstat led the Zags in average (.301), runs scored (34), and hits (58) while finishing second in runs batted in (30) and third in slugging percentage (.420). The junior out of Menlo Park, Calif. was named All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention and WCC All-Academic First Team at the conclusion of the 2024 season. In addition, Eisenstat advanced to the national ballot with a chance to be voted Academic All-America.
Donovan Ratfield, a large part of Gonzaga's battery this season, holds a 3.76 cumulative GPA while studying Political Science. Ratfield finished among the top five in batting average (.266), walks (15), slugging percentage (.370), runs scored (24), hits (46), and runs batted in (26) this season for the Bulldogs. At the conclusion of the regular season, Ratfield joined Eisenstat on the WCC All-Academic First Team.
Vincent Temesvary joined the Zags this season and immediately became a huge part of the GU offense, leading the team in slugging (.459) while finishing second in walks (25) and runs scored (30), and third in hits (46). Temesvary played and started in all but one of Gonzaga's 53 games this season. He holds a 3.58 GPA while studying Biology to round out the Bulldogs' All-District Team nods.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 2.
