No. 6 Arkansas Beats Gonzaga, 4-0

Razorbacks win first-ever meeting between the programs

Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sixth-ranked Arkansas defeated Gonzaga women's soccer Thursday, 4-0. It was the first all-time meeting between the programs.
 
The Razorbacks (3-0-1) remained unbeaten, including 3-0-0 at home, with the victory. In the three home wins, Arkansas has outscored its opponents 21-1.
 
Thursday, Arkansas outshot GU, 25-8, including 16-2 in shots on goal. The Razorbacks also had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
 
Lauren Towne made 10 saves for Gonzaga. She became the first Bulldog goalkeeper since 2015 to record 10 saves in a match. Keegan Smith had two saves for Arkansas.
 
The Razorbacks' Kate Doyle scored the first two goals, kicking in a loose ball in the 19th minute and heading in a Kelsey Oyler cross in the 37th minute.
 
Oyler would be credited with another assist in the 42nd minute on Anaiyah Robinson's first goal of the season. Makenzie Malham completed the scoring in the 56th minute with an assist to Cora Hair.
 
Marissa Garcia and Emelia Warta both took a team-high three shots for Gonzaga (1-2-1).
 
The Zags remain on the road and are at Kansas (2-0-2) Sunday at 11 a.m. Pacific Time. The Jayhawks tied with South Florida at home Thursday, 1-1.
