SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's track head coach
Jake Stewart has announced their schedule for the 2025 outdoor season. The Zags will open their outdoor slate on March 21 at the Buc Scoring Invite at Whitworth's Boppell Track.
On Apr. 4, GU will return to the Whitworth campus for their Annual Peace meet. In total, Gonzaga will race on Boppell Track at five different meets next Spring.
The Bulldogs' first road meet will be the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., on Apr. 4-5. GU will race late into the night hoping to earn some qualifying 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter times for the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds.
Back-to-back meets are next and will both be hosted by Whitworth. First is the Jeff Rahn Classic on Apr. 11, which will take place six days before the Whitworth Twilight Meet on Apr. 17.
GU will enter an important road stretch as the next two meets will be crucial in qualifying for the NCAA West Prelims. First up is the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., on Apr. 17-18. Next, the Zags will head to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, Apr. 24-26 for the second consecutive season.
Gonzaga will next make the drive down to Corvallis, Ore., for the Oregon State High Performance Meet on May 2-3. They will return home to race at the Whitworth Last Chance Meet on May 7 in their final local meet of the outdoor season.
Their last chance for outdoor qualifying times will be at the West Coast Last Chance meet, hosted by San Francisco State, in San Francisco, Calif., on May 17.
The NCAA West Preliminary Rounds will take place in College Station, Texas on May 28-31. Gonzaga will hope to repeat history from the 2024 season, sending runners from both teams to the NCAA Championships in Eugene. The final rounds of the 2025 postseason will return to Hayward Field June 11-14.
