LAS CRUCES, NM – Gonzaga women's tennis defeated New Mexico State 4-1 on Friday afternoon, improving to 3-1 on the dual-match slate.

The first two doubles results were split, as Norhan Hesham/Brooke Bittner won 6-3 and Rose Hayes/Ella Nielsen fell 6-4. In the deciding match, Emily Robertson/Safien Boulonois survived a tiebreaker to clinch the doubles point.

Moving to singles, Nielsen and Bittner each triumphed in two frames, then Hesham dropped a battle that included a second-set tiebreaker. Robertson's 7-5, 6-3 victory secured the dual for the Bulldogs.

When the match was clinched, Hayes led the second set 5-3 after winning the first one 6-4. Boulonois came up short 11-9 in a first-set tiebreaker, then was ahead 5-4 in the second frame.
