STOCKTON, Calif. – Gonzaga men's tennis continued play at the ITA Division I Men's Northwest Regional Championships on Saturday, with the Bulldogs battling through another round of strong competition in both singles and doubles action.
In singles, Diego Herrera picked up a straight-sets win, defeating his opponent 6-1, 7-5 to highlight the day for the Zags. The victory marked Herrera's second strong performance of the tournament as he continued to show steady composure in key moments.
James Hutchinson pushed through a tightly contested first set before falling 7-6, 6-2, while Tom Dunlop and Jay Fairclough both dropped competitive two-set matches. Giovanni Branchetti battled in his opening frame before ultimately falling 6-4, 6-0, and Nicholas Reeves extended his match to three sets before coming up short 3-6, 7-5, 0-6.
In doubles play, Gus Krauel and Diego Herrera paired up but came up just short, falling 8-5 in a competitive contest.
