Women’s Soccer and Santa Clara Play to 1-1 Draw

Bulldogs and Broncos met on ESPNU for fourth straight season
SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's soccer earned a 1-1 home draw with Santa Clara Wednesday. It was the fourth straight season the programs met in a nationally televised game on ESPNU.
The Zags (5-8-2, 3-2-2 West Coast Conference) remained unbeaten at home during conference play with the result. Santa Clara outshot GU, 18-9, but the Bulldogs had a 6-4 edge in shots on goal.
In her 32nd appearance, Gonzaga's Annie Boyden scored her first collegiate goal in the 13th minute. She struck in a shot that was assisted by Amelia Severn and Samantha Snorsky. It was Severn's fifth assist of the season, which ranks third in the league.
In the 74th minute, Mailin Orozco scored the equalizer for the Broncos (6-6-3, 2-2-3 WCC).
Ally Harrison made five saves in the SCU net, while Michaela McCollum had three for Gonzaga.
The Bulldogs host Seattle University (7-2-6, 3-2-2) Saturday at 6 p.m. The Redhawks and Portland played to a 2-2 draw Wednesday. Saturday's matchup will be broadcast live on ESPN Plus, with live stats on GoZags.com.
